Telka's Teletherapy Services

During COVID-19,  Hours for teletherapy are offered by appointment only for current and returning former clients.  Telka is limited in her ability to accommodate new clients, please see details regarding new service requests below.  For mental health emergencies contact 911  or Community Mental Health.  To locate a local provider who meets your individual needs by location, insurance coverage and specialty area visit  Psychology Today 

Understanding Your Insurance Coverage

 1. The customer service number on the back of your insurance card may assist you with details of your outpatient mental health coverage  and a list of contracted providers. 

2.  Be sure to clarify that your provider search is for a mental health therapist. 

3. Clarify your copay and deductible amounts to determine your "out-of-pocket" expense.  Inquire cost of  teletherapy for procedure codes 90791 and 90837. 

Telka 's "in-network" Provider Status

Telka is a contracted "in-network" mental health provider for :  *Aetna, ASR, *Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO,  Blue Care network (BCN), *Cigna, *Cofinity, HAP, Health Plus, PHP, Messa, and McLaren and SPN.

If you do not find Telka listed in your provider directory, check your "out of network" coverage.  

Telka is NOT  contracted with: Cigna Behavioral Health, Humana, Ingham Health Plan, Medicaid, Medicare, Tri-Care or Employee Assistance Programs. 

*Specific policies have complicated rules and exclusions so the bottom line is to search your mental health provider directory  using Telka's  National Provider ID of 1013066067  

Request Services

Return to service request: ​Telka schedules her own appointments. Email is the fastest way to contact Telka at  Therapy@TelkaArend-Ritter.com  

If you are interested in brief, solution-focused services, please include the following information: 

1. Your name  now and the name you had during your prior work with Telka, 

2. Your current age,  (Services limited to  those who are now between the ages of ages 21 to 62)

3. Occupation and employer.  ( Services limited to those who are available to schedule teletherapy between the hours of 9a and 3p)

New service restrictions :  Telka is no longer accepting referrals for children, teens, families or senior citizens. Her brief treatment model is not compatible with legal issues, addictions, disability, severe and chronic physical or mental illness including episodes of suicidal and self-injurious behavior and those with histories of recent hospitalizations.  

New service request:  If you are highly motivated,  insightful and interested in change, then Telka's tools and services may be a good match.  Telka helps people who desire skills, strategies and evidenced based treatment models to guide them toward healthy coping and improved stress management. If you would like to align your thoughts, emotions and behaviors with your values,  email Telka directly with your new service request in 2021, no new service requests available this year. 

Cancellation Policy

To cancel or reschedule a telephone appointment, please provide 24 hour or more advance notice via  email to Therapy@TelkaArend-Ritter.com. Please keep in mind that “no-shows” and short notice cancellations prevent others from receiving services during that appointment time.  Although Telka does not charge cancellation fees, repeated cancellations indicate that current scheduling practices are not working. Repeated cancellations may result in termination of services.
